Over the last three years our annual Sassi Holford event has been a real highlight, and this year was no exception…
A Relaxed Ambience with Classical Elegance
Located in the heart of Chancery Lane, a venue like The Law Society might seem a little intimidating, but in the light of candles and the glittering chandeliers, the space glowed with the perfect warm and intimate atmosphere.
Before the salon show, guests mingled in the Common Room, enjoying cocktails and our Mr and Mrs canapés. The ‘Beer n Burger’ proved very popular, and guests loved the fun factor of our avocado and goat’s cheese doughnut pops’ springing up out of their miniature grassy hills! With help from a little sleight of hand from the fantastic Sylar of Sylar Magic, the evening started got off to a magical start.
A Collection of Vintage Influences… and an ITA* Secret!
We were simply bowled over by the stunning range in Sassi’s new collection. From trailing lace to feathers and sparkle each gown was breathtaking. With hints of nods to the 1940s and 1950s, there was something for every bride, and one in particular…
It’s no secret here at ITA* that the lovely Claire Phelps is shortly to walk down the aisle at our very own venue the In & Out. But far fewer people know that she’ll be wearing one of Sassi’s beautiful gowns! Apparently our catwalk guests saw “about half” of Claire’s dress on the runway at the launch, but we still don’t know which half! She can’t keep her secret for much longer though, as she and her fiancé Bobby tie the knot in late December.
Love is All You Need
Once the final gown had been shown, our photographer Douglas Fry got to work capturing some gorgeous images of the ladies in their dresses, highlighting the venue at its finest. Meanwhile the guests descended the church-candle lined stairs to the Reading Room, decorated with sumptuous displays by floral couture designer Neill Strain.
And that’s where we let our fantastic Chester Boyd and Ampersand chefs, and their spectacular food, do the talking!
With Executive Chefs Gary Devereaux and Karen Poynter on hand, guests tucked in to our interactive food stations. For starters there was a choice between: pressed Suffolk smoked ham hock and foie gras terrine, hand carved Nordic salmon cocktail, and foraged mushrooms on toasted brioche.
For the main course, guests were treated to miniature steak and chips, lemon sole with lobster, and an autumnal risotto flowerpot all served up with charm by Gary Esprit of the Law Society team.
No wedding is complete without a few sweet treats! Our interactive dessert station, featuring toast-your-own marshmallows, milk bottle milkshake and cookies, and a fabulous champagne and peach dessert, was a feast for the eyes and tastebuds alike. With music from Mark of Mighty Fine Entertainment, a closer look at invitations from our friends at Orchards Cards, and Abi of the Abigail Bloom Cake Company offering delicious samples of her signature cakes, the evening was a perfect to spend time with friends, old and new!
