mclcreate Presents: 4 Exciting Event Technologies
Our audio-visual partners mclcreate understand the difference that fantastic tools can make to your event experience. We’ve asked them to give you a whistle-stop tour of the event technologies currently making waves at exhibitions and conferences.
At mclcreate we understand the importance of creating an impact at events and conferences. Here are four examples of exciting event technologies we see making waves at business events.
1. Projection mapping
First popularised by artists, and later by DJs, projection mapping is a technique that allows video and animated design to be mapped onto 3D objects. Textured walls, blocks and even buildings can be used to create a high-impact visual display.
Large consumer events and outdoor functions lend themselves well to this technique. However, 3D projection mapping is increasingly being used to liven up presentations at conferences and corporate events as well.
2. Smartphone apps
Smartphone technology has been available to the masses for a long time, but only now is the event industry waking up to its potential for enhancing the delegate journey.
Mobile apps allow event organisers to put essential information directly into the hands of attendees. With a tailored app, timetabling, keynote speeches, directions and sponsor messages can all be made available to visitors at the tap of a finger.
Interactivity can be enhanced with live polling and Q&As, allowing delegates to submit questions and feedback, getting clonazepam buy directly involved in the event as it happens. Messaging and discussion forums also provide a platform for attendees to interact and share insights. Integrating mobile helps to move an event from passive to participatory.
3. LED spotlighting
LED (light-emitting diode) lighting has long been popular in the events industry due to its efficiency and safety credentials. LED lights are longer-lasting than both conventional and fluorescent lightbulbs. They are also more energy-efficient, emitting far less heat, which makes them safer too.
As event technology improves, LEDs are able to fulfil ever more demanding functions, including providing strong spotlighting. This can be used to add dramatic effect during a presentation such as a product showcase, allowing different parts of a showroom or stage to be highlighted as required.
4. Interactive touchscreens
Thanks to the explosion of smartphones and handheld devices over the past decade, we have all become used to accessing and manipulating information with our fingertips. Already popular in travel and the retail industry, touchscreen event technology is popping up where it can enhance delegate interaction.
A host of functions, including sign-in, accessing timetables and navigating floor plans, can be delivered in this user-friendly way. At exhibition stands, a smartscreen allows visitors to actively explore extra information and features, creating a more memorable experience
