Laura Meets…The Proposers
A wedding is such a special day, one that takes months of planning and that everyone remembers, however that journey all begins with those two simple words, “Marry Me?”
The Proposers help their clients to create the perfect proposal, delving into the story of each couple to make popping the question the most romantic and intimate, or exciting and extravagant, occasion – a day to remember and a story to tell for years to come.
The Proposers took some time out to tell me about where it all began and to tackle the hard task of choosing their most romantic proposal so far…
How did The Proposers start?
The Proposers started when our founder Daisy’s brother came to her for help, as he didn’t have a clue how to propose to his then girlfriend (now wife). Daisy arranged everything, including helping pick out the ring, and, of course, the lady said yes! After this, Daisy realised there was a huge gap in the market to help men create amazing proposals for their partners and so The Proposers was born.
What’s the secret to the perfect proposal?
Keeping it personal. Make sure you really think about what your partner loves – if they are a very private and timid person then don’t arrange a public flash mob with 1000 people watching!
Where does your inspiration come from for each proposal?
The client – we find out all about the couple, their relationship and what makes them tick, from where they first buy generic xanax online cheap said “I love you”, down to favourite colours. We then go away and brainstorm creative, and completely unique, ideas for the proposal that are tailored to the couple.
Which was the most romantic proposal you have been a part of?
Probably Sham’s proposal to Orva. Orva is a keen artist who loves visiting exhibitions, so we helped Sham create their very own gallery of happiness. We created ten canvases, which all featured things that are meaningful to them as a couple and that make Orva happy (for example, she loves penguins and Phantom of the Opera so one piece of artwork was a painting of a penguin holding a Phantom ticket!) The last canvas was draped in velvet, and when they reached it, Sham whipped off the cover to reveal a print of one of Orva’s own designs with the words “will you marry me?” on it. Their love songs were playing in the background and we placed flowers in cups in the centre of the room – “Cups” is Orva’s nickname.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone planning a proposal, what would it be?
Capture the moment on film! The first thing people want to do when they get engaged is upload pictures to social media and let the world know, so don’t forget to take some photos. They’re also great to share with family and friends and even show at the engagement party or wedding!
