Contemporary Traditions at Founders’ Hall

Our beautiful Livery Hall, Founders’ Hall, seamlessly blends the contemporary with the historical, which made it a perfect venue for Hayley and Rich’s wedding. Their charming and eclectic intimate wedding was a joy to host and brought a good deal of sunshine to a grey November day!

With their ceremony taking place at St. Bart’s, the couple were delighted to find striking Founders’ Hall right on its doorstep; it’s always a delight to experience the tranquility of the location, a marvel of serenity right in the thriving heart of the City!

The Livery Hall, which can accommodate 10-100, is intimate enough that the wedding party of 26 did not feel dwarfed by the room, but large enough that the guests were able to capitalise on their small number and really make the most of the space.

The wedding took place on a chilly late autumn day, with romantic but freezing flurries of snow earlier in the day; mulled wine and hot spiced apple juice were very gratefully received after an outdoor photo session following the church service.

This cosy drinks reception took place in the Parlour where guests warmed themselves and mingled until dinner was announced by the ringing of the ship’s bell. The guests moved onto the Livery Hall, the door of which had been personalised with a projection of the couple’s names thanks to the DJ and lighting specialist, where xanax online to australia Hayley and Rich settled at the top table with its stunning wall of plaques as a backdrop.

The buffet style menu offered roast chicken with diced root vegetables and roasting juices with roast potatoes and a vegetarian option of winter penne with a wild mushroom and lentil ragu, followed by seasonal British cheeses with grapes, celery, chutney and biscuits and finishing up with a coffee and chocolates course.

The cake cutting was a perfect meeting of the contemporary and the traditional, as the couple cut their quirky cake showing the two of them in bed together with The Founders’ 150 year old sword!

After their first dance and a disco with their loved ones, the couple were whisked away for their Paris honeymoon.

Hayley and Rich got in touch to say:

“We just wanted to say thank you so very much to both you and your team for helping make our day so perfect. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and said how beautiful the reception was and how great the service was.”

DJ Phil Webster, who played an excellent set including many of the couple’s favourite songs and provided some great lighting effects, got on famously with our event coordinators, saying:

“Founders Hall [proved] to be one of the most hospitable venues we have ever come across”
