Thanks to their party starting skills, Mighty Fine have won tonnes of awards. Their DJs have totally shaken up the perception of wedding entertainment, and they’ll be helping us set the mood for our Sassi Holford’s Couture Collection Launch at the Law Society.
Tell us a bit about yourself! How long have you been in the entertainment industry?
Mark van den Berg, the founder of Mighty Fine Entertainment, has been in the industry for over 30 years.
What is it, for you that makes wedding entertainment so special?
A wedding is a very joyous occasion, and to be part of a couples’ team on their wedding day, playing a large part in their celebrations is really special.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career?
Changing the perception of what a wedding DJ is and challenging the idea that all wedding DJs are cheesy. Proving, within an overcrowded market, that Mighty Fine Entertainment has something exceptional to offer.
What’s your favourite type of entertainment at the moment?
I don’t have a particular favourite, however, anything that truly engages the guests and strives for excellence will always stand out.
If you could do any wedding right now, what would it be?
I would love to do my own wedding again, as everything seems to fly by on the day, and I would probably add a few little extra buy xanax no prescription cheap special elements that I’ve learnt from experience.
What advice would you give to couples who are just starting to look for their entertainment?
Do your research and meet your suppliers before committing. Make sure it’s a good personal fit and that they will deliver on their promises.
What ITA* venue would you choose for your wedding day?
The In & Out.
What trends in entertainment have you seen this year?
Shift towards more sophisticated production, including light up letters and a “less is more” approach to lighting. Couples also now realise that DJs are able to personalise playlists to reflect the couple’s and their guests’ tastes.
What trends in entertainment do you predict for 2015?
Technology and entertainment interaction; we are currently working on some great new ideas for 2015.
What is your most inspirational/memorable wedding and why?
My own for obvious reasons!
Why are London weddings so great?
The cultural mix; the history; the range of choices, options and venues; and its vibrancy all add up to make a fantastic place for a London wedding.
What really excites you about your job?
Each wedding is unique, so no two days are the same. It excites me to know that we play an important part in contributing to such a memorable occasion and I love the creative aspect and the personal touch.
What inspires you about a wedding?
The coming together of people to celebrate and show their love.
