Celebrating Local Enterprise at Hampton Court Palace
The Richmond Business Awards evening was a star-studded sell-out event organised by Richmond and Twickenham Times and Richmond Borough Chamber of Commerce. A special venue was called for, and the gorgeous Garden Room at Hampton Court Palace, just a short distance from Richmond, fulfilled the role beautifully.
The Richmond and Twickenham Times and The Richmond Borough Chamber of Commerce created and launched the Richmond Business Awards in 2011 to celebrate the best businesses and charities/not-for-profits in the borough. The Awards are judged by an independent panel of people who have run businesses themselves, and they benefit from the support of their many excellent sponsors, particularly headline sponsors Moore Blatch solictors.
Following a prosecco reception, the dinner opened with a dish of herbed rolled Scottish salmon, shaved fennel, and lemon jelly or autumnal vegetable terrine with Cumberland jelly. A main of sautéed breast of Gressingham duck with mascarpone polenta croute and curly kale followed, with truffled trompette mushroom risotto, grilled artichoke hearts and parmesan fritters for the vegetarians.
The dinner was finished with a trio of dainty desserts: champagne sorbet with a candied rose petal, buy xanax pills no prescription mini chocolate and raspberry tart, and mini lemon cheesecake.
During the coffee service, keynote speakers MPs Vince Cable and Zac Goldsmith gave their addresses, and then it was on to the awards, presented by Lynn Fauld Wood and John Stapleton and closed by Anne Newton, CEO – Richmond Chamber of Commerce.
Anne said ‘The range and quality of the entries we received are proof of the wealth of entrepreneurial spirit, talent and innovative thinking which exist locally across a wide range of sectors; Richmond is truly rich with business expertise. It is clear to us that our businesses and not for profits make a significant and varied contribution toward our community and environment and as such are key to making this a uniquely special place in which to live and work.”
The evening was a huge success and a lovely time was had by all. It was wonderful to take part and almost as wonderful to hear our client say: “Without exception, all agreed that the Richmond Business Awards at Hampton Court Palace yesterday evening was the best yet.”
