Great Hall

The imposing medieval Great hall with its huge Gothic windows is the largest and most impressive room in Guildhall. The 15th century walls are five feet thick and ornamented with dramatic clustered columns and mouldings.

Old Library

The Old Library is an airy and spacious room flooded with light from the magnificent stained glass windows. A small mezzanine is contained within a series of tall, graceful arches.

East and West Crypts

The East Crypt and West Crypt are the largest Medieval crypts in London dating back to Edward the Confessor (1042). The circular columns and fine groined ceiling create an intimate atmosphere.

Art Gallery and Basinghall Suite

The Guildhall Art Gallery and Basinghall Suite is a recent addition to the Guildhall, opened in 1999 by her Majesty The Queen. The suite houses the impressive art collection of The City of London Corporation.

With its Corinthian columns, richly decorated, moulded ceiling in gold leaf, and four matching chandeliers this beautifully proportioned room exudes character and provides the perfect location for events to remember. One of the delights of attending an evening reception or dinner, is to see the crystal facets twinkling in the candlelight.
